Black and White Irish Cream Cupcakes

Irish Cream Cupcakes

As far as cooking goes, St. Patty’s day may just be my favorite day of the year. I mean really – I get to play with beer and Irish Cream and whiskey! And where that may be normal for me for the week of St. Patrick’s Day on the blog, you can’t judge me ;D It’s an excuse for me to go to the liquor store and purchase fancy beers that I know nothing about, skip merrily down the aisles restocking the whiskey supply and make fun of the college kids that are laid out on the street by 9:30 […]

Salted Caramel Cupcakes

It’s as easy as ______! Go on, fill in the blank. A few weeks ago while we were at a bike race, I was cheering people on. “It’s as easy as CAKE!,” came flying from my mouth. I didn’t think anything of it, but Handsome looked at my dumbfounded. “Cake? What the hell is that?” Now, to be fair, I am very bad at expressions. I never get them quite right, almost like I miss the nuance of it. So, I thought for a while that perhaps cake was not the right way to say what I was trying to […]

Cherry Coke Float Cupcakes

How about we end this week with a bit of a bang…. Ok, more than  bit of a bang. These were the whole shebang. I knew it the moment I spotted the recipe over at The Novice Chef that they would be a hit. That girl seriously knows how to knock your socks off! Now you’re going to have to excuse my short post – but it would be rude to talk with my mouth full!   Cherry Coke Float Cupcake Discovered on The Novice Chef, adapted from Homemade By Holman Ingredients: For the Cake: 3 cups all purpose flour […]

Cute Matcha Cupcakes and a Kawaii Giveaway!

February gets the short end of the stick. No pun intended. Here it is not even half way over and I’m already swamped. When this posts tomorrow I’ll have already been awake and active for three hours and hopefully safely on my trip to the giant state of Texas. It’s a business trip and I am both excited to go and miserable to leave (something that my BF is having a hard time understanding). Not cuddling with my cats for four whole days! (I know there are people who don’t get to see their kittens for much longer but let […]

Cannoli Cupcakes to get back into the swing of things.

And on the 5th day, she just couldn’t take it anymore! Ok, maybe it was the 4th. Who’s counting? I’m fed up with typing about being sick (really – that’s not fun to read) but the other day I just couldn’t take it any more. There’s only so much sitting around in a NyQuil induced coma that one girl can take! Before I knew it I was cooking,  cleaning, trying to vacuum the dog and volunteering to go to the Home Depot with the BF (which let me tell you is always an adventure). Cannoli Cupcakes recipe adapted from Sugarcrafter, […]

Good Deeds and Brownie Cupcakes

The other day a letter arrived addressed to my BF from   Big D 101 You’re Welcome Dr DoSomething, Nice 155500 The letter inside was “Dearest (Insert Handsome’s name), I saw this on the ground at (insert location here) and thought you may need it. Have a great day. Sincerely, Big D.”   Enclosed was his driver’s license that he had lost several days before.   Now, I thought this was rather awesome of “Big D.” Most people wouldn’t even bother picking something up let alone spending the $0.44 to mail it – and include an awesome letter and great […]

Vanilla Chai Cupcakes

My lil girl kitten, Kiori, loves to counter cruise, which is not a behavior I condone. Leave a stick of butter out and she can’t help herself, up on the counter tops she goes to claim it as her own. She has calmed down a bit since our counters aren’t as spacious as out last living arrangements and I only really catch her up there once in a while (like this morning when two sticks of butter were coming to room temp – or when someone leaves pizza crust on a plate. Not pointing any fingers or anything).   The […]

Theres no visual evidence.

I love my some Christmas cheer but everything gets so stressful at times. My uncles birthday is New Years Eve and that stinks cuz he never gets a party just for himself, but on the other hand, the whole world celebrates his birthday. Kind of. So we were finally able to get together Thursday night to exchange Christmas gifts and celebrate his birthday. I made a gingered beef stir fry and chocolate cupcakes with a cream cheese peanut butter frosting. However, due to the stress of trying to get the house un-Chirstmased, tidying up for guests, and making dinner, I […]
