Let’s take a moment to discuss the art of the U-turn. U-turns should be a fundamental part of driver’s education in which it is explained and practiced, that on occasion, if one has missed their destination or proper road, that they can, at a safer point further down the road for themselves and other vehicles around them, make a 180 degree turn to then head back to that which is was they missed. I think America has forgotten the art of the U-turn. Instead, people will now dart across 4 lanes of on coming traffic just to be in the turn lane […]
This post is probably bordering on TMI, but since I lack filters, I just suggest the men look below to the tasty tid bits. Am I the only woman on the planet with an irrational fear of pregnancy? I treat it like catching the plague, every time a friend announces shes pregnant I buy a stash of sticks and pee on them like crazy hoping that it wasn’t somehow contagious, locking myself in a convent and rocking back and forth for a few hours. All of that is after I congratulate the new soon to be mother. I’m not heartless after all. This […]
This is one of those recipes I have been debating on whether or not I post for some time. I saw variations of lasagna soup on many sites and the idea most definitely caught my attention. Making lasagna for two is rough. There is only so many days of lasagna for lunch and dinner that we can handle, and a large pan of lasagna is about three days more than we need. But soup. We can down some soup in this house. Could a quick soup really be as good as a serving of your grandmomas’s home made labor of […]
I bet you were expecting some fancy five star places when I mentioned I wanted to start writing reviews in 2012. Sure, there is a time and place for that, but if I’m being real with you, it’s not where we eat. So for my first review of 2012, I wanted to take you to a place that I visit probably more than I should admit. About two summers ago, Handsome’s parents told us we had to try a little pizza place in Port Deposit Maryland. A one road town built low into a cliff on the Chesapeake. The buildings are […]
The thing about my dad and I is that we kind of grew up together. He was young when he had me and played his hand the best he could. The best part about this (besides having a dad who loved K’nex just as much as me) was that I grew up knowing his friends, who I now consider my friends. They are also somewhat like a pack big brother’s who I know I could call on for anything if I needed to. A few weeks ago, a friend of the family had us all over for dinner. It was […]
I used to think I was tough. I thought I was rough, hard around the edges and out of my 3 co-workers the the most intimating. Yeah, I was gangster. Until the day I decided to make sausage. Let me just tell you, sausage making will knock you out of your boots no matter how tall you think you stand. Or at least it did to me. It wasn’t butchering of the pork, slicing delicately around bone – making sure the fat ratio was just right took me down. It wasn’t the marinating the 4 pounds of cubed pork in […]
The following statement will show you just how screwed up I am, but, I love me some telemarketers. I thoroughly enjoy screwing with them. I know, I am not a good person. My parents used to get a certain news paper calling their house 6 or 7 times a week wanting them to subscribe to their paper. Apparently, their general disinterest did not stop the telemarketers from trying though. Finally I’d had enough and answered the phone in my best child like voice. The telemarketer asked to speak to my mommy or daddy to which I relied, “Mommy hasn’t been […]
Ever wonder what goes on in the mind of your pet? My cat goes on crazy adventures all day long. I think it’s awesome. Last night he got lost in bed sheets and made a fort out of laundry. Next thing I know he’s playing fetch with bottle caps and herding socks to a corner. What goes on in his head? How is he always so self occupied and entertained? Maybe he is just bored stupid. Either way, he’s awesome. I am so glad he never lost that kitten charm.
