Sip on a smooth blend of rum and the sweet spices of chai in this Dirty Chai Cocktail recipe. It’s all the joy of the afternoon coffee break with an adults-only twist.
It’s winter. And right now, that is all I want to do. The seasonably short days have me wishing I could live in flannel PJ bottoms and thick blankets draped over my shoulders. That, or I am struggling with the early 30’s adulthood moments of tax season (seriously, why do we combine bitter winters and the IRS? Everyone of legal tax age should get a margarita just for playing along). It’s my first full year in business for myself, and things went well. Crazy well. (Crazy good sounds better, but adulting means I should at least try to use the right words….)
You know when people quote inspirational things like, “Leap and the net will appear.”? That. It appeared. I have bounced around all over the US in the last year, snapping and working and hustling like a proper pantsuit wearing Millennial girlboss should. And here I am at the start of a new year, and dang if I am not pulling the yoga pants wearing messy bun stereotype hard. core.
Last year, the net appeared and I happily flopped into it like instagram loves ENO hammocks (no really, they rock). And now, it’s time to roll out of it, bedhead and all and take direction. Take charge. Push on forward. I’ve got this boss game going so strong some days, that I need to remember that I am the one in charge, and the universe does have my back, and it’s all working. Terrifying or not, it’s working. Like it or not, those wispy little sayings are true. And they work for those empowering terrifying holy hell what have I gotten myself into moments that all aspiring entrepreneur should have.
So, in boss of boss moves yesterday.
I rolled up to a commercial photography job, nailed it and was back home in time to create a little afternoon libation. Perfect to share for happy hour. Mixing my afternoon love of that last swig of espresso with a desire to play with chai and rum, this recipe took the meaning of Dirty Chai to a whole new level. And my my it was smooth. Dangerously smooth to sip on.
When you’re feeling like a proper girlboss, or totally owning a yoga pants kind of day, or maybe both, this Dirty Chai Cocktail is your Gilmore Girl Netflix and binge lifesaver.
Trust me. I’ve got this on lock.
