Ingredients for Pumpkin Spice Krispy Treats

  • Rice cereal
  • Pumpkin Spice Marshmallows (seasonal find)
  • Butter
  • Pumpkin spice pudding mix
  • Soft caramels

Substitutions

  • Marshmallows: Can’t find pumpkin spice marshmallows? Use regular marshmallows and add extra pumpkin spice mix to capture the autumn flavor.
  • Pumpkin Spice Pudding Mix: If unavailable, substitute with vanilla pudding mix and a teaspoon of pumpkin spice mix.

How to Make Pumpkin Spice Krispie Treats

  1. Prepare the Pan: Line a 9×13 inch pan with wax paper or foil for easy removal and cleanup.
  2. Mix the Cereal: Place rice cereal in a large bowl, setting it aside for later.
  3. Melt the Marshmallows: In a large skillet over medium-low heat, melt the marshmallows with butter, ensuring they blend smoothly. Stir in the pumpkin spice pudding mix until fully incorporated.
  4. Combine: Pour the marshmallow mixture over the rice cereal, stirring quickly to evenly coat.
  5. Set the Treats: Using a spatula sprayed with non-stick cooking spray, press the mixture firmly into the prepared pan.
  6. Melt Caramels: Microwave the caramels until melted and creamy, then drizzle over the pressed cereal mixture.
  7. Cool and Serve: Allow the treats to set at room temperature before slicing into squares and serving.

Recipe Tips for Epic Krispie Treats

  • Press Firmly: Ensure the mixture is pressed firmly into the pan to help the treats hold together when sliced.
  • Caramel Drizzle: For a smoother drizzle, add a teaspoon of cream to the caramels when melting.

How to Serve Pumpkin Spice Krispie Treats

Serve these treats on their own as a delightful snack or alongside a cup of hot cider or a Homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte for a perfect fall treat. They’re great for school snacks, festive gatherings, or as a sweet treat to brighten a chilly day.

How to Store

Store the Krispie treats in an airtight container at room temperature to keep them fresh and crispy. They are best enjoyed within a few days of making.

Reheating

If the caramel topping hardens or if you prefer your treats a bit softer, briefly microwave them for 5-10 seconds before serving.

Enjoy your Pumpkin Spice Krispie Treats, a sweet little reminder of why fall is so special!
