Cranberry White Chocolate Cookies

Cranberry white chocolate cookies are sweet and chewy white chocolate cookies, with a tart-sweet bite from dried cranberries.

These cookies have magic powers. Not only are they flat out delicious but they give their baker the power of bravery and will make the person the baker gives them to fall madly in love with them. That's right, these cookies are dangerous. You've been warned.

I've actually mentioned these cookies long ago in the infancy period of my blogging days, long before I was snapping shots of dinner before we get to sit and enjoy it, so I feel it's ok to feature these little magic little morsels again.

Story time!

Long before Handsome and I were aspiring to be the Marlborough Man and Pioneer Woman we had our rough spots. We actually had been together and split up and moved on with our lives. The problem was, we still had to interact with one another and our parents had to interact with one another.

Rule #1. Never date your the man with keys to your business, your home, your bosses home... you get the idea. In other words, don't date your contractor.

Time went on though and I was baking these cookies and that's when I discovered how the combination of cookie, cranberry, and white chocolate is a powerful undocumented ancient spell. With a little push and bag of fresh from the oven cookies in hand, I found myself at the job site where Handsome was currently working, knocking on the door.

The rest is well... history.

We may not have a ranch and cattle but our heard of three pets and our herb garden are close enough for now.

Ingredients:

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • 1 ⅓ cups sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 ½ cups white chocolate morsels
  • 1 (6-ounce) package sweetened dried cranberries

Preparation:

Combine flour and next 3 ingredients; set aside.
Beat butter at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy; gradually add sugar, beating well. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating until blended after each addition.
Add flour mixture to butter mixture gradually, beating at low speed until blended. Stir in white chocolate morsels and cranberries.
Drop cookie dough by heaping tablespoonfuls onto lightly greased baking sheets.
Bake at 350° for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned on bottom. Remove to wire racks to cool completely.

I have made these before...too many times to count. Yes they are uber-magical. Mmmm. What sweet story, Hubs and I broke up a bunch before we tied the knot. We dated for 6 years before we decided to.

These look so good! They remind me of the cookies my neighbor would make for me growing up. Hers had oatmeal in them too, but ever since I've loved the combo of cranberry and white chocolate.

These look really light, yet crunchy in texture-yumo! Also, they have the red/white Christmas theme going on. I will add this to the reasons for having a second celebration of Christmas- the second one being in July! Great post.

Magical cookies sound pretty good to me, especially when they have cranberries and white chocolate in them. Maybe they work in other situations too? I'm just going to have to bake some and find out.

Uber-magical is definitely a word I'd use just looking at them. I love dried cranberries and am crazy about white chocolate (can't stand the brown kind though). It's so true about the way to a man's heart. When I was able to convince Hubby to come over to dinner after our first date instead of going to his friend's house and doing "guy" things, I knew I had hooked him. 🙂
