Ok, my dumplings were a little soggy on the bottom, but that's ok! They were still delicious and awesome! They aren't the prettiest thing ever, but with a scoop of ice cream, fresh from the oven, they are kind of amazing.
2granny smith applespeeled, cored and cut into wedges
2cans refrigerated crescent dough
1/2cupbutter
3/4cupsugar
1teas cinnamon
1 12ozcan lemon lime sodayou know the kind
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a baking 9x13 pan with baking or cooking spray.
Unroll the dough and pull apart at the seams. Press each triangle a bit to make it bigger. Starting at the tiny end, roll an apple slice up into each piece of dough and pinch the edges shut around the corners.
Place each dumpling in the pan (things are going to get a little snug, get creative, this one's not winning any beauty pageants so don't think to hard on it.)
In a small saucepan melt the butter over medium-low heat. Add the sugar and cinnamon and stir until dissolved (the mix will get a little darker in color). Pour over the dumplings brushing a bit over each. Lastly, trust in the baking fairies and pour the soda over top.
Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, until dumplings are golden brown. Serve fresh and warm!
