Melt the butter and chocolate in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally until smooth. Set aside.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Whisk the eggs, sugar, and vanilla together until smooth. Add the cooled melted chocolate and mix to combine. Whisk in the flour, a little at a time, until completely combined. Fold in the chopped walnuts and pour batter into the pie crust.
Place the pie on a baking sheet for easier handling getting in and out of the oven. Bake for 50 to 55 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with only a few moist crumbs. Cool for at least 20 minutes before slicing and serving.
