Quick Dinner Fixin’s: Thai Red Curry with Shrimp

Curry_shrimp_0037

It’s Thanksgivings eve and the last thing I want to think about is turkey. I’m going to have piles of turkey and turkey leftovers tomorrow. So tonight all I want is a quick and simple meal.  Nothing is faster or easier than a stir fry. And it’s my secret weapon when I feel like we have been carb binging and I need to sneak some veggies in. With some coconut milk and red curry paste, I might as well be in heaven. Who needs a turkey? This is where it’s at. OK, won’t lie. I still want some turkey, but that’s only […]

This weekend was awesome. First off all, I had off. For those of you who work in retail or have a non-9-to-5 job, you get what I’m saying. Second, I got to meet some great food bloggers at R2L, an awesome event organized by Wendy at La Phemme Phoodie! R2L is a stunning restaurant located on the 37th floor of Liberty Place and Chef Daniel Stern did a wonderful job of pulling out all the stops by serving wonderful appetizers, drinks and preparing a flawless selection of dishes for us ‘foodies’ to photograph and  indulge upon. Photographer Eric Mencher […]

Today is all about building bridges. And getting over them. I’m not sure how to start today’s story so I apologize for any lacking continuity ahead of time. About a year ago I received a Facebook message from someone using the pseudonym of a comic book character (clever right, yeah, I know…). It turned out to be an ex-boyfriend seeking out forgiveness for his behavior. This next statement is going to sound harsh, but I really didn’t feel anything. No flaming anger, no relief, no gratefulness that he was suddenly aware of his previous behavior. Nothing. Heck,  I didn’t even […]

Curried Turkey Pot Pie

Even though we had several people join in our Thanksgiving feast, it just wouldn’t be the same without leftovers. And despite everyone’s best efforts, there were plenty of leftovers. My parents sent us home with a giant plate of turkey, an entire pie and the trimmings. But, as much as I love a simple turkey sandwich on white bread, this much turkey needed to be used up before it went bad. I had seen a show the other day where the chef made a curried chicken pot pie and new that’s what I would be doing with my Thanksgiving day […]
