I wanted to get some shots of the beautiful oranges, reds, and yellows that I have spotted recently while out mountain biking, but I believe our recent cold snap and winter weather made the leaves change too rapidly and I missed me shot. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not blaming Mother Nature for this one, I just missed the opportunity. I want to become a better photographer all around (not just cookies and cupcakes) so I have been trying to take my camera with me to more places and not feeling awkward for doing so.
Last Monday I drove out to one of the locations that we ride, camera, camera bag and extra lenses in tow, and walked for over an hour. (On the bikes I can cover a lot more ground! But putting a bag that expensive on my bike? Oh yeah, that would be the day I lean how to take a fall.).
So, the leaves weren’t as vivid, and some of the branches had gone barren, but it was worth it.

Such a peaceful shot!
I’ve been disappointed with the colors this year and the early snow and crazy weather sure hasn’t helped any. They’re rapidly turning brown here instead of pretty colors. Ah well. There is always next year!

Still a beautiful shot! It just captures a different state of time…
keep up those camera skeelz

I totally blame Mother Nature for bogarting the shot you wanted but I’ll forgive her since this picture is ACE! Drag that camera with you everywhere. Don’t be shy
And I haven’t picked up any of the DC’s yet. I’m waiting for some trades. I think the boys at the Swap are just gonna toss a few in there for me. Any suggestions?

It is a beautiful photo…and I agree with you about putting the camera bag on the bike. I’m afraid I wouldn’t enjoy the ride if I did…I’d be worrying about the camera the whole time! …..so I’d miss the shot anyway!

Beautiful shot – bokeh around and make me feel very nostalgic about it.
