Can I be on strike? The tree has already come down, the decorations away, my local gym suddenly packed with New Years Eve resolution-ers who I truly hope make it more than a few weeks. I’ve seen Valentine’s decorations on display and Easter candy end caps (seriously… Easter people? It’s January. We all know those Cadbury eggs aren’t making it to no basket.) And I realized as I look around my jingle-stripped house that I wasn’t ready to pack up the Santas and tinsel quite yet. I wasn’t ready to start the to-do lists and the 2014 projects and plans. I just want to spend a little more time enjoying the holidays.
So as my pitcher of pomegranate awesomeness sits in the fridge for me alone, I am wondering if next year I need to get hohoho-d sooner, or if I need to take a step back and sit down for a few minutes longer, or if maybe my celebrating will be done a week or two after everyone else id done, when I can sit back and savor it.
This Pomegranate Fizz should have been up a week ago, for New Years, on a table packed for a party (well, the one it’s sitting on, the pictures just didn’t come in time) as a fantastic cocktail for you and your friends to enjoy as part of the #captainstable challenge to help the good Captain himself dig into his treasure chest and donate to help end hunger. But I thought I missed the deadline and… well, here we are! So, go on, retweat the recipes you see with hashtag #captainstable – for every RT we get, a dollar is donated! Harness that social media!
