Pass The Sushi!

The dog is broken.

I am not sure what hap­pened or how but his tongue wont stop lick­ing. Slop, slurp, slop, slurp can be heard any time day or night and he licks his paws over and over, some­times for­get­ting that he is lick­ing his paws to lick the car­pet (gig­gle) or just lick the air. He has always done this, but for the past week or so it seems to be in hyper-drive. It dri­ves us crazy and he knows it. He’s using it against us. When he wants up in the morn­ing, it starts. When he goes to sleep at night, it doesn’t stop. When the cats may be get­ting atten­tion, he’s lick­ing. When its cud­dle time, from the cor­ner of the room, the annoy­ing icky noises of him ran­domly lick­ing creep up to drive you mad. Apron #2 from the pais­ley print. I really think the two of these would make a really cute set. More aprons to come!

Oh, you wanted some­thing healthy? Well, I’m pretty sure this isn’t it. This is down home com­fort food. I was try­ing to hold off until fall to make this but the taste buds were calling.

Spicy Sausage Meat­loaf Burger

Ingre­di­ents

• 2 table­spoons extra-virgin olive oil, plus some for drizzling
• 1 red bell pep­per, finely chopped
• 1 large onion, chopped and divided
• Salt and pep­per, for seasoning
• 1 pound ground beef
• 1 pound bulk hot sausage
• 1 pound ground sweet sausage
• 1 egg
• 3/4 cup bread crumbs, 3 gen­er­ous hand­fuls, Ital­ian or plain
• 1/2 cup grated Parmi­giano or Romano, a cou­ple of handfuls
• Burger Rolls
• Pro­volone cheese slices
• Tomato Sauce

I got this pais­ley fab­ric for next to noth­ing at Joannes when it was on sale. I think its super pretty and should have got­ten more. I’m mak­ing a full apron out of if as well that should be done tomor­row. It would be really cute for a mom and daugh­ter cook­ing team or sisters.
