I know what you're thinking. Maple Harry Palmer? Yeah, went there. Last weekend I was up in Maine with the Cabot Fit team running for some cheese (or rather, running off some cheese 😉 ) when I discovered a little local sip called Maple Lemonade. I was beyond intrigued. I saw it on several menus and then when I went to hunt it out... no where to be found. So, I'm guessing it's lemonade sweetened with real deal Maine maple syrup and not just sugar. Until I get my hands on a big glass to sample myself (or one of you chimes in and gives me the low down on this magical potable), I am going to stick with my initial theory. And so, with that in mind, I present - the Maple Harry Palmer. I sipped on this while sitting at a local restaurant in Maine (more on that later in a travel and race recap post). For now, let's just enjoy the possibilities of an open summer weekend and hold on to the last few weeks of long light. Good things are right around the corner.

I hope your weekend is as awesome as you need it to be!

Ingredients

  • 1 tbs real maple syrup - the good stuff
  • 1 oz citrus vodka
  • Sweet Tea Mead - or sweet tea if you can't find sweet tea mead - I picked mine up in Maine
  • Lemonade - go for less sugar - since you are adding the sweetness with the maple - or bust out your mad skills and make lemonade from scratch using the maple instead of a simple syrup)
  • sliced lemon for garnish

Instructions

  • Mix the maple syrup and the vodka in a shaker with ice until combined.
  • Pour the ice and maple mix into a glass. Fill with half mead and half lemonade to top things off (more or less mead if desired),
  • Garnish with a few slices of lemon to pretty things up and enjoy.
